- In Deuteronomy, we are told about a prophet who
- was to be like Moses!
-was to be an Israelite!

- Now Moses was the leader and warlord of Israel!
- Jesus must come back as the leader and warlord to free the earth and God's people!

Yes Jesus has to come back and fulfill - but you haven't really responding to the point who 'the prophet' is in John 1:19-21, as it is clear that its not talking about the Messiah (Jesus)?

Also, Deuteronomy 18 - says 'brethren' - the best translation - that doesn't mean it is an Israelite. How is Jesus like Moses in any event - Moses was a Prophet albeit of high rank, Jesus is much more and arguably nothing like Moses?

- You can't say that!

- In the first part of the Bible, the word Messiah is only used twice in the book of Daniel 9:25,26!

https://www.kingjamesbibledictionary.com/Dictionary/Messiah

- And it is the same with Deuteronomy 18:15: Only Moses speaks about a prophet like him!

- And Moses was a mediator between God and the israelites!

- It can perfectly refers to different parts of the Bible!

- And there are only Deuteronomy and Daniel!

- And they belong to two different periods of time!

- When Moses speaks, he speaks to the israelites!

- It could only means someone among them!

- And they are supposed to listen to him!

With respect - you have not responded to the initial discussion regarding who 'the prophet' is in John 1:19-21.

Deu 18 - not saying its not Israelites or its not Jesus - but nothing you have said actually proves it or how Jesus was like Moses - my opinion is he much greater.

Thanks for your responses. IMO with respect you haven't show any support to come to your opinions on Deut 18 and John 1 'the prophet' clearly talked about 3 people which you seem to have avoided.

as to the above - again I dont understand how you come to these conclusions - happy for you to share some passages as to why you come to that opinion.

Paul - did what & according to what he heard or what he says he heard. Anywhere can easily say Jesus spoke to me - not evidence only his words that cannot be proved.

- So tell me about your opinion!

- Why do you think it deals with 3 different people?

- The Messiah refers to the anointed one thus someone who is going to be king!

- A prophet is someone who tells God's word!

- But a prophet like Moses implies different ideas because Moses did different things (a prophet, a leader, a mediator, a writer)!

- And Jesus corresponds to that!

- Jesus is the only mediator between Gow and men (1 timothy 2:5)!

- And the Israelites recognized him as the Prophet!

- And nothing indicates he wouldn't be an Israelite!

- Matthew says John the baptist was Elijah!

- Nowhere in the Bible the apostles speak against Paul or questioned who he was!

- His actions showed who he was!

- And Christians received holy spirit thanks to him!

- And Mark 9:11,12!

- So tell me about your opinion!

- Why do you think it deals with 3 different people? talks about Elijah / Messiah / the prophet - 3 people that's clear. John 7:40-41 also differentiates the 'Messiah' & 'the prophet'

- The Messiah refers to the anointed one thus someone who is going to be king! So when it says 'Messiah' its not talking about Jesus I have always understood the Messiah meaning Jesus - if not who is this King? (noting that many including Jesus have been called king and Lord & master & Priest). Also the OT that mention the Messiah doesn't relate to Jesus?

- A prophet is someone who tells God's word! Yes agreed - but Messiah is also used as a prophet / messenger etc...

- But a prophet like Moses implies different ideas because Moses did different things (a prophet, a leader, a mediator, a writer)! - Not sure what you meant by different ideas - all prophets done some of these things - Jesus did not write or provide written laws etc...

- And Jesus corresponds to that! - as above

- Jesus is the only mediator between Gow and men (1 timothy 2:5)! Yes agreed one God and one mediator - but I presume other Prophets were also mediators in their time as they spoke to God and were given guidance.

- And the Israelites recognized him as the Prophet! - that's an issue, some say - is he a Prophet / Son of God / God

- And nothing indicates he wouldn't be an Israelite! - Agreed - says 'brethren' nothing say he will be

- Matthew says John the baptist was Elijah! - JtB stated that he is not Elijah - so an issue

- Nowhere in the Bible the apostles speak against Paul or questioned who he was! Agreed - just making the point of supporting evidence - I often have debates with others Jehovah's, Jews, Muslims, Hindu's, Atheists etc.... I like to equip myself with passages to support - makes the argument stronger.

- His actions showed who he was! Agreed

- And Christians received holy spirit thanks to him! - Thanks to who - Paul of Jesus?

- And Mark 9:11,12!

Yes I know what the Gospels say.

God – spoke to Adam & Eve / Ezekiel / Abraham / Noah / Job & many more

The Apostles healed the sick and raised the dead and many other miracles….

The apostles at the time didn’t believe Paul to be a leader;

Acts 21 21 They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs. 22 What shall we do? They will certainly hear that you have come, 23 so do what we tell you. There are four men with us who have made a vow. 24 Take these men, join in their purification rites and pay their expenses, so that they can have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know there is no truth in these reports about you, but that you yourself are living in obedience to the law. 25 As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they should abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality.”

26 The next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them. Then he went to the temple to give notice of the date when the days of purification would end and the offering would be made for each of them.

Acts 15 22Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to select men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas called Barsabbas and Silas, two leaders among the brothers, 23and sent them with this letter: The apostles and the elders, your brothers, To the brothers among the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings.…

Rev 21:14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations bearing the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
- Paul was a special apostle, the apostle of the nations, he was to do a different job!

- And we get all the letters he wrote to the Christians of different cities!
