Why does God do what He does? I'm not looking for a dissertation here. Just a sentence or two with perhaps a verse. On a very macro level, what is God up to?

he’s done it all so he can have a family that feeely chooses to love him in return like a father and his children

if we don’t have free Will our love for God would be meaningless but like children he wants us to know him and his great love for us d simply love him in return because of who He is

hope that isn’t too long

Along with Gideons post above, it always amazes me that God's plan was in eternity past

- Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. Eph 1:4.

We could say everything is according to God's plan from eternity past.. All looking forward to Christ. Redemptive history, for his glory.

A good question Cameron. This is what Biblical theology answers. I read a good biblical theology primer actually called 'according to plan - the unfolding revelation of God in the Bible', by graeme Goldsworthy. Really opened up the big over plan to me a few years ago. I would highly recommend it.

I appreciate the suggestion. Thanks.

Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

in truth it's impossible to say, outside quotes Bible verses.
