All, a few or none, is it done or not for us to be new in belief to he is risen or not?
Just asking, I believe it is finished John 19:30, then in the risen Son one gets this and a new life to lead them in Spirit and Truth John 4:23-24 as Father leads in one's being willing, not ever forced to believe by God anyway is my experience

There is a big difference between sins being "paid for" at the cross and sins being "forgiven" at the cross. ALL sins were paid for at the cross, but none were forgiven at the cross.

The ultimate sacrifice of Christ on the cross made it possible for all sins to be forgiven. But first there must be repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21). Repentance is for the remission or forgiveness of sins.

Hello @homwardbound, since our sins need to be atoned for in order to be forgiven by God, where else can this be accomplished, other than at the Cross, since the Lord Jesus' precious blood is required to make atonement for all of our sins, past, present and future

That said, we continue to ask the Lord to forgive us and cleanse us of our new/ongoing sins as believers (as soon as we realize that we have sinned) as per the Lord's instructions to us .. e.g. 1 John 1:9.

God bless you!!

~Deuteronomy (David)
Hebrews 9
22 All things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Hebrews 10
4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

“for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:23-25‬ ‭

“And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:15‬ ‭

he died for any sin tbat we come to repentance and turn from

“If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:6-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“If we do this … then he will do this “Jesus death doesn’t change this part it makes it possible

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭

his death works hand in hand with repentance and remission of sins

“and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:46-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if someone robs your house and you forgive them then every time you leave they rob you again and then feel as if they are already forgiven for any of the future times they are going to rob you

thats different than if someone robs you , and then they come and confess what they did because it’s wearing on them a weight too heavy and you then forgive them they aren’t going to them exploit your mercy and continue to robe you tbey came to repentance because it grieves thoer heart that they did this evil to you

Repentance is essential because of this that isn’t covered by his sacrifice

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:26-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Repentance = remission of sins in Christs name when we refuse to acknolwedge our sins we can’t repent

Thank you
I agree with you, except for the 1 John 1:9 ing it over and over and over again. Those doing that are aware of sin and not wanting to sin, and therefore are under Law and not free from under Law to do righteously as are called from God by Son for them to now do righteously.
the original translation of 1 John 1:9 was to receive the forgiveness at the cross offered all to believe and be new in doing right, not taking any credit in it to do it, are now in the risen Son leading them in God's Father's Holy Spirit doing it through them such as was done on Pentecost, it was not the disciples doing it, it was Father in the Holy Spirit doing it through them.
Seer Peter in Acts about going to the Gentile house of Cornelius. seeing them saved by God without any water baptism. There are many playing Church to this day, even evil goes to Church to fool the people and is doing it, yet I glory in it since Jesu the Christ is still preached
Ask, receive and see, stand in true to God and see after many mistakes many see, yet there are those that will see through it all and not want a thing for themselves in doing it as want to do it

I surely hope not to sin ever again, as I see you see this too, thank you
I have sinned and could again being in a body of unredeemed flesh. The best I can do is: be dead to my first born flesh and blood with Christ on that cross. I die daily to be new in God Father's Spirit and Truth John 4:23-24
No flesh nature ever pleases God but Son's that did it first for us to be woin in his love and mercy given us to stand in.At least for men this I now see after being under Law for a long time priorly. Not the it can't happen again being in an unredeemed flesh body presently
Romans 8 clears this up to e to see not to depend on me and what I get proud about in not doing things as did and then think I am better than others, Not!

Luke 18:9-14 reveals this to me thank you/For me to sy or act like look at me is not good for me in this flesh body I am in that cannot please God Romans 8:3

Look up Metanoia if you will, take it to God Father in prayer and see what is truth from God not me or others for even the self either, thank you

Absolutely true, thank you only Father can reveal this to us the people. There always seems to be a devil hanging out around most the people, me asking God for discernment and stand in belief to see or not see, yet continuing in trust to God over even myself doings that are dung now to me too as Paul talks of in Phi. 3

John 6:68-70

Authorized (King James) Version

68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. 70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

And the death had to be first, in order for the new to come in and be new in the risen Son for us to be new in by continued belief to it, thanks

I get a very uneasy feeling when someone tells me their sins that have not been committed "yet" are already forgiven. No, they are paid for but not forgiven until you ask for forgiveness when you sin. Of course, this leads to the "false version" [extreme Grace] of the OSAS concept.

To be clear, there's 2 versiosn of OSAS and one is false.

Yeah.

John wrote his first epistle to his children in the Lord.

"Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen."

So, these are believers who knew John and walked closely with him. His message is not to create converts. John is giving instruction to his spiritual household.

Then, John gave them instruction concerning sins.

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We should think of this as a court setting: "The power of sin is the law". In the same way, the power of sin can be undone by the application of the Greater Covenant than the law: Christ Jesus, or Lord and Savior. In the greater covenant, confession is required for forgiveness. It is then appropriate to thank Him for forgiving our sins and cleansing us of unrighteousness.

the word of God is the truth

“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭13:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17:30-31‬ ‭

Repentance comes when we start acknowledging the Truth

“in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

truth sets free

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭

when we don’t want to sin but we still find that we sinned it should bring a sorrow when we acknolwedge it

“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭7:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we’re sorry for our sin it’s godly sorrow if we’re sorry because we didn’t get our way it’s worldly

everything in the gospel is geared towards men accepting the thing Jesus taught because they will bring us to repentance when we find we have sinned

We repent of things we’ve already done because we acknolwedge we are guilty of it

“confession is required for forgiveness. “

yeah many refuse to acknolwedge thier own sins which makes confession impossible and repentance a myth it’s all connected

“Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

look what David learned about hiding sins and confessing them

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old Through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture is turned into the drought of summer.

I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: Surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭32:1-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In other words if I’ve sinned ….

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ( I dont want to do this )

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.( tbis brings remission )

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”( this is not advisable )
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:8-10‬ ‭

Everything has to be sincere with God that’s the only true requirement our own sin should make us sorrowful when we realize we’ve done it tbat should lead to prayer and confession and of course forgivness

and also maybe as importantly when we start acknolwedging the truth of our o perfections yet it gives life and meaning and true importance to his doctrine and causes us to need to start applying it ( of course only if we hear and believe his word )

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we think we’re righteous and refuse to acknolwedge our own sins this leaves the above tesching meaning next to nothing to the believer ot leaves it impersonal and irrelevant to th e believer he doesn’t need forgivness he’s righteous therefore he doesn’t need to forgive the other guy either ect

The New Testament is all of one doctrine and ties together in every way

Hearing -believing -learning -acting in

I’ve sinned , it should bother me so that I bring it to God , I confess to him in repentance and his promise is fulfilled

if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleans us from all unrighteousness”

Chrirtians need to really start hearing the “ if you do this “ part that precedes the “ then I’ll do this part “

Oh sorry yes I see what your saying sorry I posted in the wrong thread,.

Yes calling people a devil is also to call someone wicked.

So there for the life that in all the other apostles where listening to the life already in them.

Moses was not and this was before the cross.

So how was Jesus able to know such thing.

It must be his life exists in all people yet to be saved and also those who probably won't get saved like moses
