Earlier this month, Infowars reported on a group of West Virginia middle school girls who protested against being forced to compete with a transgender student during a shot put event.

Now, five of the girls who protested against competing with biological males have been banned from participating in future sporting events by the Harrison County Board of Education.
West Virginia’s Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced a lawsuit against the county education board on behalf of the female students.

“I will do everything in my power to defend these brave young girls. This is just wrong. We must stand for what’s right and oppose these radical trans policies,” Morrisey said Monday.

Five middle school girls who staged a "step out" protest and refused to compete against a transgender athlete have reportedly been banned from further events.
In response, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has filed a suit in support of the girls, West Virginia Watch first reported.
"Their actions at the earlier track meet were not disruptive or aggrandizing," Morrisey wrote in the amicus brief filed April 26. "They were the quiet demonstration of the student-athletes' evident unhappiness with the competitive consequences of a federal appellate court's decision."
Four of the five students, through their parents, are named in the suit against the Harrison County Board of Education.
"I will do everything in my power to defend these brave young girls," Morrisey said Monday. "This is just wrong. We must stand for what's right and oppose these radical trans policies."
Earlier in the month, several members of the Lincoln Middle School track and field team "stepped in" when their name was called and then "stepped out" without throwing the shot to protest the event.
A video posted on X shows five girls watching the athlete in question participating in the shot put competition.
The protest came just days after a federal appeals court ruled in favor of a transgender teenager who sued West Virginia over the state's law barring biological boys from competing in girls' sports.
Women's sports advocate Riley Gaines posted her outrage at the school board's decision.
"Rather than banning the boy from girls sports, they ban the girls from girls sports," Gaines wrote. "You can't make this stuff up.
"Sue them into oblivion."

Florida filed a lawsuit seeking to block President Biden's recent changes to Title IX on Tuesday, with Gov. Ron DeSantis accusing the president of "abusing his constitutional authority."

DeSantis announced the lawsuit on social media, saying Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina were also on board with the suit. The Biden administration's changes to Title IX prevent schools from banning biological males from competing in women's sports, among other things.

"Florida is suing the Biden Administration over its unlawful Title IX changes. Biden is abusing his constitutional authority to push an ideological agenda that harms women and girls and conflicts with the truth," DeSantis wrote. "We will not comply, and we will fight back against Biden’s harmful agenda."

The Independent Women’s Law Center, Independent Women’s Network, Parents Defending Education and Speech First, Inc. are also listed as plaintiffs in the complaint along with the states.

The Biden administration’s revision of Title IX redefines "sex" as "gender identity" and "sexual orientation," while also requiring schools to ensure students use "preferred pronouns" for their classmates. If not, the school is at risk of losing federal funding.

Under the rule, a school must also not separate or treat people differently based on sex, which will allow locker rooms and bathrooms to be based on gender identity.

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr announced the lawsuit on Monday, arguing the change is dangerous for women and would destroy women's sports.

"The Biden administration is destroying women’s sports by gutting commonsense provisions that protect female athletes and demanding that biological males be allowed to compete against females," Carr said in a public statement. "Today we have taken action to defend women’s rights to fair competition, and we will keep fighting until we end this absurdity once and for all."

Carr has previously pushed back against Biden’s Title IX revision, which was first introduced in July 2022. He called upon the NCAA to protect women’s sports by repealing the rule allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports. Carr has also taken similar legal action in support of Arizona and West Virginia’s "Save Women’s Sports Act."

I don't suggest anyone enroll their children in this mess. That said, it would likely get nipped in the bud if there were strong leaders in the families. Each Dad in the bleachers would walk down to the field and stand up to the ref, he would either throw the boy out of the competition OR he would get thrown out of the stadium and be the brunt of bad referee jokes in the letters to the editor. The Dad's would take a vote to choose a new ref that day and go on with the field and track meet.

Instead, they are choosing to use the legal system, which could either become a landmark case or a waste of much time and effort. I'd say go for the former if I were in those shoes.

I campaigned for a middle class 3rd party candidate for governor a while back. He got enough signatures and pass the state rules to be on the ballot, to compete with the billionaire/ mega millionaire candidates.
He wasn't even allowed to debate them on radio stations. He was not allowed on the ballot in spite of the rules. He contested to the attorney general and he said, there's nothing he could do because he worked for the Governor. Then he was given a gag order and threatened with imprisonment.

That's how politics works in West Virginia and other states.
