The value of having a Christian community is important and if I struggle to maintain it in person, I figure at least I can try online!
so HI!
I'm a 24 year old introverted woman with generalized anxiety disorder, but more importantly, I am a child of God and I really started focusing on building my relationship with him last year. I was baptized young and will probably rededicate my life one day because I didn't understand the purpose at the time.
But I'm here because I want to connect with other Christians so we can journey through this life together! The Lord didn't create us to be on this earth alone, so I'm hoping with my anonymity, I can open up and truly connect with people!
Let's see how this goes!

Welcome to CC from one anxious introvert to another.
It may still be a bit tricky at first, as an introvert, but push through and you'll have it down pretty quickly.

Welcome, newbie. I've also dealt with anxiety and have been an introvert my whole life so I can understand where you're coming from. Obviously we all suffer in different forms and in different levels of severity but we can at least have some form of understanding when it comes to similar afflictions. I'll keep you in my prayers and I hope you find some good posts here to help clarify some things in your understanding of God and your own faith.

I don't know how you're spending your days, but I can tell you that roughly two weeks ago I decided to stop watching any worldly videos as well as stopped reading anything non biblical or at least anything not God focused. Since then I've only felt anxious maybe 3 or 4 times. They were all small bits of anxiety in comparison to a full blown panic attack. Basically nothing I wasn't used to, but prayer and focusing on God cleared it away nearly instantly. That's a major upgrade from 24/7 levels of varying anxiety as well as depression.

Perhaps if you're living like I was, 24/7 listening to worldly and some satanic music, watching random comedic or interesting youtube videos to pass the time, reading random stories since I stopped enjoying tv and movies. Idk if you spend most of your free time indulging in those things like I did. If so, I would recommend only watching sermons of preachers you find enjoyable that stick with biblical sermons, or just videos of peoples testimonies of how they found God through Jesus and how it changed their lives. I also found some videos of Christian scholars and scientists talking about how science brought them to God. Basically just replace worldly videos with something about God and His word. I also replaced random stories with the bible or just bible study videos since I'm not really smart enough to understand things myself so I can get confused quite easily lol.

Anyways, to sum up my rambling, worldly interests seem to push us, or me at least, further form any relationship with God. Deciding to focus on God has brought me inner peace and almost zero anxiety. The few times I did have anxiety were over random worries as usual, but noticing the anxiety and going straight to prayer took it all away. Hopefully you can find your way closer to God so He will take away your worries like has has for many other people. Then you can start to live an anxiety free life and finally have your peace.

I place a high value on this Christian community. Like yourself, I too am an introvert. Connecting with others is what happens here. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Thanks for this! I do find wordly things pulling me away from God a lot. Especially with all of the distractions we have. I'm glad to see changing your focus to God in everything helped and I'm definitely going to give it a try!
