i'm not a former muslim but i was a lost sinner who didn't know christ and i'm gonna tell you from my experience some challenges, when i got converted the world started to persecute me and look at me with disgust like " ew a christian " i got curse alot of times almost all of my friends drifted away from me and wanted nothing to do with me, honestly i think these signs should tell you something that christianity is real, there is so much hate towards it because the devil has the entire world in his hands so he manipulate people to hate it, did you think the christians who die almost everyday did anything wrong? nope they are being killed for their faith that should tell you something, just last week 60 christians got blew up in a church in pakistan by a suicide bomber, and so many more dying just because of their faith in christ, but remember whoever is willing to lose their life for my name shall surely find it, also alot of muslims are being converted too recently to christianity, as the bible say i will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, don't you see? that is the supernatural power of Jesus right there to convert a muslim from birth and Just call them and reveal himself to them, that is how we know it is the truth when we become born again, and my brother keep seeking and you will find, recently i saw a muslim got converted through the power of Jesus and he was in complete shock and Joy just shouting the name of Jesus and saying what he has done for him, you see the entire world is in blindness so we have no idea what is the truth or what direction to go too but when God reveals the truth to you you become aware of what is real and which way to go, i pray this for you my brother, God bless

Because you live in India, and probably in a Muslim area, you will face persecution.

The main thing though, is not to worry about persecution, but to start growing as a Christian by reading the Bible, praying to God - talking with him and getting to know him. I don't know if there are Christian churches where you live, but you might want to attend one.

Challenges that have been faced by ex-muslims are various, depends on the devotedness of their family and surroundings.
Am not a former muslim myself, but living in Indonesia, i have seen and heard many things that have to be faced by them.
I don't blame muslim, since muslims are just doing what they know is the truth. It's islam's fault, since many ayas in the quran and also references in hadith that are supporting those harsh conducts to those who leave islam.
Jesus himself has made it known to His believers, that His believers are gonna be persecuted, even by families and surroundings.
I will be praying for you, brother. Ask always power from the Holy Spirit.

Yes you may be having control methods on you such as brothers sisters islam pretend be christian or be christian in a name or some of there names and then spy on you and control your surroundings.
You may need establish a contact net work of new friends.
It may be difficult being friends with your muslim brothers you once had and they may be angry with you.
Maybe move town or neighbourhood and pray to jesus that he guide you and speak with to you.
They may not want let you go and leave islam.
You should seek support.
Make changes.
Chat here , visit church or if you be afraid then start by reading and praying and bleeding for .
I know there are muslims say they christians because they steal a time from some one who forsed wear burka who may have a good cat or thai time for example so they surgery and say they are the human of this .....

I am shia muslima as I was born this.
But bad people came into shia and stole everything from us.

When I read the OPs question, it read to me from a muslim point of view, in other words, he's asking what challenges are there coming from muslim to Christianity and not particularly the challenges with being a Christian hence why he asked advice from ex muslims. From my understanding they can have a lot to deal with converting to Christianity in regards to family, friends and even the culture that surrounds them if their in a muslim country.

But never fear because every living thing will die and have to face eternity either in hell or heaven. By receiving Christ, we can enjoy heaven for ever.
Living in the world simply temporary only 70 years in average. Don't focus on temporary and forget about eternity.

Don't say you converted,you came to Christ.It's a relationship.Its not religion.That's why millions come to Christ.We have the golden opportunity to talk to God directly.Rest of the world is blinded by their ignorance.

You don't have to do anything extra-ordinary to please God Lord Jesus.He is not lacking in anything.You just go to his feet as you are.Read or start reading the Holy Bible.He will make you strong in Christian faith.
(if you can read english better use KJV 1611 and refer with dictionaries for meaning in internet or books,

read arabic version of Holy Bible.)
In the long run,reading and meditating on the word of God(Holy Bible) will help you.Keep continuing to talk with Jesus.He will teach you how to pray.
