neither calvin or luther or spurgeon or henry or augustine or popes or preachers today know that Psalm 119 is Messiah Yahshua's prayer for life

listened to bits and pieces of sermons posted this weekend on Psalm 119 and still no one knows it is the Son's prayer for life. since they don't understand that fact, most of them totally misinterpret the Psalm and misapply what is being said through the Psalm. none of them mention the promise of life in the law to the Son for completely obeying the law by giving His life to save us in obedience to the Father and the law. the promise of life in the law is the basis for Him praying for life and to be raised through Psalm 119. can't even get people here to see it when it is one of the most important truths in Scripture.

showing Psalm 119 is the Son's prayer.

8 I will observe Your statutes.
Don’t utterly forsake Me.

He knew He would suffer death to keep His Father's law. He is asking His Father to save Him from death.

11 I have hidden Your word in My heart,
that I might not sin against You.

He is saying He will not sin against His Father

17 Do good to Your Servant.
I will live and I will obey Your word.

He says with confidence that He will live. He says He WILL obey His Father's Word.

20 My soul is consumed with longing for Your ordinances at all times.

Who else could say that, especially when considering the law required Him to give His life to save us?

22 Take reproach and contempt away from Me,
for I have kept Your statutes.

He is asking His Father to take the reproach and contempt of His suffering and death away from Him because He kept His Father's statutes which required Him to suffer and die to save us.

25 My soul is laid low in the dust.
Revive Me according to Your word!

His soul was laid low in death. He asks His Father to raise Him to life again according to the promise of life in the law to Him. the word translated revive is the Hebrew word haya H2421 to live.

29 Keep Me from the way of deceit.
Grant Me Your Torah graciously!
30 I have chosen the way of truth.
I have set Your ordinances before Me.
31 I cling to Your statutes, YHVH.
Don’t let Me be disappointed.
32 I run in the path of Your commandments,
for you have set My heart free.

He asks for the promise of life in the Torah to Him. He clings to the law and the promise of life to Him. His path of obeying His Father's commandments was to give His life to save us which the law required of Him.

33 Teach Me, YHVH, the way of Your statutes.
I will keep them to the end.
34 Give Me understanding, and I will keep Your Torah.
Yes, I will obey it with My whole heart.

He says He will keep His Father's statutes to the end. that is when He said "it is finished" and breathed His last breath on the cross. He asks to gain understanding through His suffering and death. He says He will obey with His whole heart.

37 Turn My eyes away from looking at worthless things.
Revive Me in Your way.
38 Fulfill Your promise to Your Servant,
that You may be feared.

He asks that His eyes would be focused on His Father's will and not on earthly things. the word revive is H2421 haya again. it is translated quicken in the KJV.. He is asking to be raised according to the promise of life in the law to Him, after giving His life to save us .

40 Behold, I long for Your precepts!
Revive Me in Your righteousness.

He longs for His Father to raise Him according to the promise of life in the law to Him. His Father's righteousness is shown by raising Him.

41 Let Your loving kindness also come to Me, YHVH,
Your salvation, according to Your word.
42 So I will have an answer for him who reproaches Me,
for I trust in Your word.
43 Don’t snatch the word of truth out of My mouth,
for I put My hope in Your ordinances.
44 So I will obey Your Torah continually,
forever and ever.

He asks to be raised because His Father loves Him., and promises Him life in His word. He trusts in that promise. He wants to continue to declare His Father's truth as He says in another Psalm. His hope is in the promise of life in the law to Him.

He says He will obey His Father's Torah forever and ever. The Torah required Him to give His life to save us. Who else could make a such claim? Only He could say that.

only through verse 44 out of 176 so far. it is already irrefutable that Psalm 119 is the Son's prayer for life according to the promise of life in the law to Him after giving His life to save us. did anyone read the Psalm? not to be rude, but what else does it take to convince people? will continue on.

49 Remember Your word to Your Servant,
because You gave Me hope.
50 This is My comfort in My affliction,
for Your word gives Me life.
51 The arrogant mock Me excessively,
but I don’t turn away from Your Torah.

His hope is in the promise of life in the law to Him. "gives Me life" is haya H2421 again. He says again that He is obeying the Torah(law) even while being mocked excessively.

55 I have remembered Your Name, YHVH, in the night,
and I obey Your Torah.
56 This is My way,
that I keep Your precepts.

As mentioned in previous posts, the Father's Name YHVH means Eternal Word. He again says He obey's the Torah(law) and His word.

57 YHVH is My portion.
I promised to obey Your words.
58 I sought Your favor with My whole heart.
Be merciful to Me according to Your word.
59 I considered My ways,
and turned My steps to Your statutes.
60 I will hurry, and not delay,
to obey Your commandments.
61 The ropes of the wicked bind Me,
but I won’t forget Your Torah.

He says He will be obedient. He seeks to please His Father with His whole heart. He says He will obey His Father's commandments. He describes being bound with ropes leading to the His crucifixion. He says He won't forget the Torah(law) knowing it requires Him to give His life and also promises Him life if He completely obey;s the law in doing so. While facing crucifixion and death He is focusing on being obedient to the law and trusting His Father to raise Him.

69 The proud have smeared a lie upon Me.
With My whole heart, I will keep Your precepts.
70 Their heart is as callous as the fat,
but I delight in Your Torah.
71 It is good for Me that I have been afflicted,
that I may learn Your statutes.
72 The Torah You have spoken is better to Ye than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.

He describes the false accusations that were made against Him. He says He will keep His Father's precepts. He delights in the Torah(law) knowing it required Him to give His life to save us and trusting His Father to raise Him according to the promise of life in the law to Him. He learns through what He is suffering. In Hebrews it says He learned obedience through what He suffered and was perfected forever through His obedience and sacrifice to save us.

The Torah(law) is more precious to Him than riches because it is Life to Him according to the promise because of His obedience.

for disclosure, skipped the verse with the mistranslated word astray in it. feel free to ignore all the verses that prove Psalm 119 is the Son's prayer for life. hang on to those couple mistranslated astrays if that works. Davey would be proud.

74 Those who fear You will see Me and be glad,
because I have put My hope in Your word.
75 YHVH, I know that Your judgments are righteous,
that in faithfulness You have afflicted Me.
76 Please let Your loving kindness be for My comfort,
according to Your word to Your Servant.
77 Let Your tender mercies come to Me, that I may live;
for Your Torah is My delight.

He says that those who fear the Father will see the Son and be glad. He trusts in the promise of life to Him in the word. He recognizes that the Father afflicted Him to save us. He asks to live haya H2421 because of His obedience to the Torah(law) in giving His life to save us as the law required of Him and according to the promise of life in the law to Him for obeying the law.
