My new post for Sabbath threads....

I don't know why everybody cant figure out it is a blending of Both.....REST on SATURDAY and LIKE THE CHURCHES in ACTS MEET FOR WORSHIP the FIRST DAY of the WEEK.....

Here let us break it down...

REST<------Sabbath
WORSHIP<----First day of the week

CAN EVERYBODY tell the difference between the two words?

anyway here is decisive proof from scripture that abraham did -not- have the torah of moses...

galatians 3:17..."What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise."

I like that you said that look at (Deuteronomy 5;2-3),,,,

"(5;2)The lord our God made a covenant with us at Horeb. (5;3)The lord made(NOT)this covenant with our(fathers),but with(us),even us,who are all of us alive this day",,,

so Moses himself points out that none of the fathers I.e.,"Adam,Noah,Abraham,Issac,Jacob ect." (fathers before them) were given this covenant.,,,this is what Paul is referring to "the law, introduced 430 years later",does (not) set aside the covenant previously established(the covenant before the law)by God and do away with the promise. So the promise to the seed(Christ) in which we are the "children of Abraham",,,

Hello scuba, and everyone. I'm glad you started this thread, scuba. The last time I asked Sabbath keepers about what stuff was allowed or disallowed on the Sabbath, the basic answer I got was 'it's up to the individual'... so I'm totally cool with a rule about keeping, as long each person does it by doing what seems right to them, being lead by the spirit... grace and peace to you all!

unfortunately scripture never says anywhere 'keep the sabbath in whatever way you see fit'...scripture gives some specific directions on how to observe the sabbath that many so called 'sabbath keepers' flat out -ignore-

they want to have it both ways...something to self righteously bash others over the head with...but with none of the actual obligation on their part...simply put that is hypocrisy...

I respectfully disagree...

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

The saints keep the Commandments and the fourth one is not excluded.
SO exatly how did Daniel the prophet keep the fourth commandment, when the king of Babylon Besieged Jerusalem and he 'daniel' was remove to live in Babylon? Lamentation 2:6 clearly tells us it was forgotten

'the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion,'

meaning there being neither places to keep them in, nor people to observe them? So please give me insight on How he keep it.thx

PS: Did he keep it by having faith in God?

God Bless

Deuteronomy 5;2-3 are the most pivotal scriptures concerning the sabbath day,for as we know if it cannot be established that those before the covenant given at Horeb are redeemed in it,,neither are they established afterwards. For today it is established that this covenant was "NOT GIVEN",,,to those fathers prior to it's giving,,and that they are instead established in an covenant given 430 years prior,,,

I agree that the scriptures don't say that, though I think it's implied in lots of passages... am I a Sabbath keeper? Well, I honor the Sabbath by everyday considering the birds and lillies, wanting to avoid greed, stuff like that... grace and peace!

So was the command not to shave the edge of your beards. How is your beard going?
Beard is gone because of the Nazarite vow. :)
Seriously many commentaries, whether pro or against remembrance of the Sabbath, have explained the "shaving" part very clearly.

If one thinks it's alright to see a movie, rated R or else, or to a ballgame featuring one's favorite star, or go shopping for one's favorite fashion brand on sale, and think it's alright with God, then by all means go, and as often as one wishes and not to be restricted on the Sabbath. :)

the sabbath was given to the world. What the world does with it is up to them.

It was not just given to Gods children. A non child of God will be blessed if he rests one day a week.

As Scripture says, The sabbath was made for man.

Maybe some of us need to read more before we comment?

anyone care to follow that up that is the man,,was not created because of the sabbath(BECAUSE THE SABBATH WAS ALREADY THERE AND SO GOD NEEDED TO CREATE A MAN TO FOLLOW IT),,, but in reverse,,,(THE MAN WAS CREATED,,AND THE SABBATH WAS CREATED FOR HIM),,,

The seventh day Sabbath is never called the high Sabbath. The high Sabbath was the Sabbath the started the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. It was called a high Sabbath because it only came once a year. Remember, there were two Sabbaths during the week of Jesus' crucifixion. The high Sabbath and the seventh day Sabbath, which they kept according to the commandment.
Just makin' it up as you go here?
John 19:31

[SUP]31 [/SUP]The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Why was this Sabbath according to the commandment considered a high day?

No but if you show me a verse that says "and thus the evening and the morning were the seventh day" like the first six said, I'll change it.
Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made ; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made .

Hebrews 4:1-4
1 Let us therefore fear , lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it .
2 For unto us was the gospel preached , as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said , As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

Put it together comparing spiritual with spiritual.

1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak , not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth ; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

sabbath keeping nowdays invariably turns people into hateful self righteous hypocrites...just like the pharisees...

scripture condemns hatred and self righteousness and hypocrisy...
I know!!! When we talk of scripture we are to keep to scripture not "hateful people" "self righteous people" "hypocrites". If you believe in not keeping the Sabbath, you are to say so. If you believe in keeping it, say so. But throwing mud and what Christ called the same as murdering is not to be part of it.
