There is a very poetic manner of referring to the death of another by believers. We may say that person has crossed over Jordan.

This saying has been used by Christians and others for centuries.

The Tribes of Israel crossed over Jordan in order to enter the Promised land.

So all who believe will eventually cross over or be taken up come the time of our Jesus Yeshua.

So now we know, anyone who believes his will cross over the river to the Promised land is actually a Hebrew in the most honest sence of its meaning.

Note: Forgot to give the most important part of the post. Hebrew, when fully translated is "From across the River."

We are Israel and the children of Abraham who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Likewise there are two Zions. One is man's attempt to create an earthly kingdom here in violation of Christ's admonition that "My kingdom is not of this world." But there is a Zion - the Kingdom of God - which God is assembling from people of every tribe, tongue, and nation upon the face of the Earth.

This Psalm is about the envious position of the one who is born (born again) into that spiritual kingdom through Jesus Christ:

Psa 87:1 A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah. His foundation is in the holy mountains.
Psa 87:2 The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
Psa 87:3 Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.
Psa 87:4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.
Psa 87:5 And of Zion it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.
Psa 87:6 The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.
Psa 87:7 As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.

from King James Dictionary:

hebrew
HE'BREW, n. Heb. Eber, either a proper name, or a name denoting passage, pilgrimage, or coming from beyond the Euphrates.

One of the descendants of Eber, or Heber; but particularly, a descendant of Jacob, who was a descendant of Eber; an Israelite; a Jew.

1. The Hebrew language.

HE'BREW, a. Pertaining to the Hebrews; as the Hebrew language or rites.

HEBREW - Definition from the KJV Dictionary

Which begs the question:

When the Epistle of Hebrews was written, where were the descendents of Jacob living?

Most, if not all, of the Apostle Pauls Epistles tell who he is writing to, and where they are located. Hebrews does not. One of the reasons I believe Hebrews was written by some other Disciple/Apostle. The writing style differs from Pauls as well, so there is that too.

amen I think it dates back to abram the Hebrew who was chosen and blessed of God in the text and promised an inheritance for his children

“And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭14:13‬ ‭

“Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

…. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:7-8, 27, 29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I think that’s what this is all about

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬
